“My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning…” — Psalm 130:6

In this guided meditation, we slow down and sit with the quiet ache—and quiet hope—of waiting on God.

A few minutes to breathe, be still, and remember:
morning is coming.

Best experienced in a quiet place.

Take care, notice the scattered moments, and share the grace.

Welcome to this bonus episode of Scattered Moments, a guided meditation from Psalm 130, verse 6. Take a slow deep breath in and let it go. Again, breathe in and release. You've been moving all day, thinking, solving, carrying things. Just let yourself be still. There's a line quiet but full of longing. From Psalms 130, verse 6. My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen wait for the morning. Let that settle for a moment. A watchman standing in the dark, waiting for first light, not rushing the sun, not forcing the morning, just watching and trusting that the light will come. Take a breath. And as you breathe in, just think, I'll wait. And as you breathe out for the Lord, again, I wait for the Lord. Some things in your life right now can't be hurried. Answers, healing, clarity. They come like the morning. Slowly, surely. My soul waits. Not just your thoughts, not just your plans. Your soul. The deepest part of you. Learning to trust what it cannot see. More than watchmen wait for the morning. There's a quiet confidence in that. The watchman doesn't wonder if the morning is coming. He knows. And maybe tonight or this morning, you don't need certainty about everything. You just need to rest in the certainty of Him. Take another slow, deep breath in and let it go. You are not forgotten in the waiting. You are not alone in the dark. The morning is coming. And as you move back into your day, just carry this with you.
