There are moments in life when everything in you wants to push harder, think faster, and fix what feels out of control.
But what if the invitation isn’t to strive…
but to be still?
In this guided meditation, we slow down and rest in the powerful promise of Exodus 14:14:
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Through gentle reflection and unhurried pauses, this episode creates space to release the weight you’ve been carrying and remember that not every battle is yours to fight.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or caught in the tension of uncertainty, this is your moment to breathe… to let go… and to trust.
🎧 Find a quiet place.
🕊️ Take a deep breath.
🙏 And allow yourself to be still.
Hi, thanks so much for joining me for this guided meditation. I hope your day is going well. Whether you're just starting your day out or ending it, or maybe you found a quiet place at lunch. This guided meditation is focused on Exodus 14.14. And we want to focus on being still. Today we rest in a simple promise. The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still. Take a slow breath in and gently let it out. Again. Breathe in deeply. And release. Let your shoulders drop. Let your hands rest. There is nothing you need to hold right now. Just be here. Picture the moment. The people of Israel are standing at the edge of the sea. Behind them, the dust of approaching chariots. Ahead of them, water they cannot cross. No path forward, no escape behind. Only fear. Only pressure. Only the rising urge to panic. Maybe you know that feeling. That place where your mind starts racing, where your heart tightens, where every instinct says, do something. Fix this. Figure it out. And yet, into that moment, God speaks. Not a strategy, not a plan, a sentence. The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still. Let that settle deeply into your soul. You need only to be still. Not strive. Not wrestle, not force an outcome. Just be still. Take another slow breath. What are you fighting right now? Is it something you cannot control? A conversation you keep replaying? A burden that feels heavier every time you pick it up. Notice it. But don't grab it. Just let it sit right there in front of you. And now hear the words again. The Lord will fight for you. Not might. Not maybe. Will. The battle you're trying to carry was never yours to begin with. Breathe in slowly. And as you breathe out, release the need to solve it. Breathe in. God is present. Breathe out. You are not alone. Stillness is not weakness. Stillness is trust. It is the quiet confidence that God is already at work in places you cannot see. While you're resting, he is moving. While you are waiting, he is fighting. Sit in that for a moment. No striving, no proving, no pressure. Just stillness. When you're ready, gently bring your awareness back. Wiggle your fingers. Take a deep breath. A deeper breath. Take a deeper breath and carry this with you today. You don't have to win every battle. You don't have to force every answer. The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still. Take care. Notice the scattered moments and share the grace.
